Authentic Gnocchi with Alfredo sauce

Potato gnocchi can be found in any market for about $3.00-$4.00 for a lb packaged, imported from Italy.

You will need:

  • 1-lb gnocchi
  • 1-stick unsalted butter 
  • 1/2-3/4 cup fresh grated Parmesan cheese 
  • 1-tsp salt
  • 1-tsp cracked black pepper

Directions:

  1. Allow the butter to come completely to room temperature. Bring a large pot of water to a brisk boil and place the gnocchi in and stir slowly. The gnocchi is done when it floats to the top about 2 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl place the butter and break it up into small pieces. Once the gnocchi is done remove it from the water and place into the bowl with the butter. Using a large spoon fold the gnocchi into the butter while addling the grated cheese, salt and pepper. Once all the butter and cheese has melted with the gnocchi serve dinner.

This is a Authentic Alfredo sauce and you could use it with any pasta. Just be sure your butter is completely soft so it melts properly.
