Ingredients
- 1-pack of Mama Mancini meatballs and sauce heated and then crush the meatballs into the sauce.
- 1/2 lb of ziti cooked 2 minutes short of recommended time, drained and set aside.
- 6 ounces of ricotta cheese
- 8 ounces of mozzarella cheese shredded
- 1/2 cup of grated pecorino Romano cheese.
Directions
1
In a large bowl add the crushed/heated meatballs and sauce, 4- ounces of the ricotta, half the Romano, half the mozzarella, cooked ziti and mix well and add this to a 12″ non stick skillet.
2
Top with remaining mozzarella, Romano and ricotta and then cover with a lid.
3
Put on the stove top (NOT OVEN) put the heat to low and do not remove the cover for 10-15 minutes then remove the lid and check to see that the cheese is melted and the sides are bubbling. If not, cover and let it go a few more minutes.
Notes
Remember everything is fully cooked you are just melting and heating. I serve directly from the skillet and this also makes for a very easy cleanup! The key to this method is using a skillet that has a lid that fits. This dish comes out perfect, pasta not overdone or burned, cheese perfectly melted and so good you will eat the whole thing! Check it out.
