BBQ Ribs
Sometimes I am just not in the mood for smoked cooked forever ribs and just want a good bbq’s pork rib! Here is my recipe for an Italian BBQ sauce and it’s perfect on these ribs that I cook in an hour.
Daniel’s Italian Homemade BBQ Sauce
You’ll need:
- 1 cup Balsamic vinegar
- 3/4 cup ketchup
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 2 small or one large garlic clove, minced
- 1 tablespoon Soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon minced habanero or other hot pepper (if you don’t want a little heat, don’t add the pepper!)
Directions:
- Whisk all the ingredients in a bowl.
- Simmer in a small pot over medium heat until the BBQ sauce thickens and has reduced 1/3 in size or 1/2 for a thicker more concentrated sauce.
Daniel’s BBQ Ribs
Directions:
- I bring the ribs to room temperature.
- Peel the membrane off the back of the ribs
- Dry the ribs with a paper towel.
- If using a BBQ sauce, just season with a little salt n pepper
- Put a ribbon of bacon from one end to the other on the meaty side of the rack.
- Seal and wrap the ribs completely in a heavy tin foil.
- On a gas grill put the left and right burner on med (on a charcoal grill put the coal to one side)
- Place the ribs over the burner in the center that is off. On a charcoal grill place the ribs on the side not over the coals.
- Close the lid on either grill and leave it for an hour maintaining a 350-400 degree temp.
- Open the foil, remove the ribs and over the medium heat source brush the bbq sauce on each side (flip and brush more sauce do this for a couple)
