Italian Inspired Burger on Ciabatta

Italian Inspired Burger on CiabattaOnce you give my Italian Burger a try you’ll be hooked! I shape the meat to fit whatever bread I am using and in this case a 6″ long amazing ciabatta bread from Sullivan St Bakery.

 

For the Burgers you’ll need:

  • 1/3 lb meat per burger (we will lose a good % of the weight when cooking)
  • 1/2 lb 80-20 ground beef
  • 1/2 lb sausage meat
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1/4 cup onion minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped or shredded mozzarella
  • Olive oil
  • Ciabatta Bread

 

For the Topping you’ll need:

  • Chopped roma or cherry tomatoes
  • Sliced onion
  • Salt n pepper to taste
  • Olive oil

 

Directions:

  1. After you mix all the burger ingredients, form your burgers in the shape of the bread you are using, but make it bigger
  2. Brush just a little amount of olive oil on the burgers and sprinkle some salt n pepper
  3. Place on a very hot grill or in a skillet and cook till done to your liking
  4. Remove to rest for a few minutes
  5. While the burgers are resting place the tomatoes, onions, salt n pepper in a very hot skillet and sauté for just 2-3 minutes
  6. Brush a little oil on the inside of the bread and toast quickly on the grill
  7. Assemble your Daniel Mancini Italian inspired Burgers!
