French Bread French Toast

French Bread French ToastThis is a recipe that has to sit up for 8-24 hours in the fridge before we cook it so this is perfect for your dinner tonight, I love breakfast for dinner, or for tomorrow. Feeds a lot of people, so if you have family or guest staying over, get this ready today and cook it tomorrow. It’s easy to make and incredibly delicious!

STEP 1 ingredients:

  • 1 large French baguette
  • 8 eggs
  • 3 cups half n half
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 3 tbs brown sugar

STEP 2 ingredients:

  • 8 tbs butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 tbs maple syrup

STEP-1 directions:

Butter a 9×13 Pyrex or similar baking dish. Cut the bread into 1″ slices and place in the baking dish like I did in the photo. In a bowl combine the half n half, eggs, vanilla, cinnamon and using a mixer, mix everything together. Pour this over the bread cover with plastic wrap and let sit in the fridge 8 hours to 24 hours.

STEP-2 directions:

One hour before baking.
Put 8 tablespoons of butter in a bowl then add 1 cup lt brown sugar, 1 tsp of vanilla and 2 tbs of maple syrup. Let this sit at room temp for 1 hour then mix this all together. Using a spoon scoop this onto the French toast slices, a little on each slice. Bake for 45 minutes in a 350 degree oven and until golden brown.
Serve with warm maple syrup.
