Tomato Basil Sauce
If you haven’t decided what to have for dinner tonight give this a try……it will take just minutes to get a delicious dinner on the table.
You’ll need:
- 1-lb pasta of your choice prepared 2-min short of recommended time.
- 1-28 oz. can of whole San Marzano tomatoes
- 2-garlic cloves sliced
- 1/2 small onion sliced
- 10-basil leaves torn
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- Salt
- 2-tbs extra virgin olive oil
Directions:
- Add the olive oil, onion, garlic and pepper flakes to a large skillet put the heat to med and sauté for 2 minutes.
- Add the tomatoes, 1-tsp salt and turn the heat to med-high
- Once it come to a full boil allow this to cook for 10 minutes stirring several times.
- Add the torn basil
- Add your pasta that has been cooked 2-minutes short of recommended time, lower the heat to medium and continue to cook the pasta in the sauce for 2-minutes.
- Serve with grated Romano or Parmesan immediately from the skillet.
