Translation-string beans marinara
So the market had amazing string beans! So what to make? Yup, string beans ma-di-na!
You’ll need:
- 1-lb fresh string beans cleaned and cut in half
- 1-28 ounce can San Marzano tomatoes crushed by hand
- 6-8 garlic cloves cut in half
- 2-tbs extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
- 1-tsp salt
- 1/2-tsp black pepper
Directions:
- In a large skillet add the olive oil, red pepper flakes, garlic, salt and black pepper.
- Sauté on med heat until the garlic starts to show a light brown color.
- Add the tomatoes and bring to a boil and cook the tomatoes for 10 min.
- Add the string beans and fold into the the sauce and cook the beans in the sauce for 5 min for a crunchy bean or 10-15 min for a well done bean, your choice.
I love these cooked in the sauce for 15 minutes.
String beans Mad-Di-Na! That’s how Grandma pronounced it.
