Rustic Stye Potato Gratin
Rustic Stye Potato Gratin perfect for Thanksgiving
You’ll Need :
- 4-lbs of Russet Potatoes skinned and sliced into 1/8″ slices
- 4-cloves of garlic chopped
- 2-tbs fresh chopped or 1-tsp of dry Thyme
- Whole milk
- Grated Parmesan cheese
Directions:
- Place the sliced potatoes, Thyme and garlic in a large pot and add enough milk just to cover the potatoes.
- Bring to a boil then lower to a simmer for 5-8 minutes.
- The potatoes should be partially cooked but mostly raw.
- Using a baking dish make a layer of the potatoes then top with a layer of the grated cheese continue until you have used all the potatoes.
- Add the milk to the baking dish, just enough to almost cover the potatoes.
- The milk will be starchy from cooking the potatoes in it.
- Top with a nice layer of cheese
- Bake in a pre heated 350 degree oven for 35-45 minutes. You will be able to pass a knife easily in the center, then you’ll know they are done
- Let rest for 10 minutes before serving
