Pasta e Piselli
There are many versions of this Italian recipe and that’s the best part about Grandma Cooking every Grandmother has a great recipe for the same dish.
You will need:
- 1-28 ounce can Whole Italian Plum Tomatoes crushed by hand
- 1/2-cup chopped onions
- 2- garlic cloves sliced
- 1-tbs of extra virgin olive oil
- 1- cup of frozen peas, thawed.
- Your favorite pasta.
Directions:
- In a large skillet 12″-13″ heat the olive oil then sauté the onions and garlic for 2 minutes until the onions are translucent and the garlic is golden.
- Now add the Hand crushed tomatoes and all the juice. Bring this to a boil then lower the heat to a simmer and allow this simmer for 20 min.
- Now add the peas and continue to simmer for 5 more minutes.
- Cook your pasta 2 minutes short of the recommended time, strain and add the pasta to the sauce.
- Finish the pasta in the sauce until it is done. Serve with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and some grated pecorino Romano cheese.
