London Broil

London Broil London Broil2Not sure what to grill? Try a good old London Broil. Not only is this a very affordable cut of beef, it’s also really delicious. Here I made a simple marinade and let it marinade for 8 hours. It’s even better to let it sit in this marinade for 24 hours. Always bring the meat to room temperature before grilling.

This marinade is enough for a London broil up to 3 lbs.

You’ll need:

  • 1 cup of a dry red wine
  • 6 garlic cloves smashed with the skin on
  • 1 small onion minced
  • 1 tbs dry oregano
  • 1 tbs dry basil (I used fresh because I had it)
  • 1 tsp dry or fresh thyme
  • 1 tbs Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tsp black cracked pepper

Directions:

  1. Whisk all this together in a bowl and let that sit in the fridge for an hour
  2. Then whisk it again and add it to a large zip plastic bag
  3. Take the London Broil and poke holes in both sides with a fork
  4. Then place it in the plastic bag with the marinade
  5. Remove as much air as possible and zip it shut
  6. Place in the fridge for 4-24 hours
  7. Pre heat your grill to high
  8. Remove the London Broil from the marinade and dry both sides with a paper towel and allow it to come to room temperature this will take about 30 minutes
  9. Brush a little canola or vegetable oil on both sides of the meat and season with salt n pepper and place on the grill
  10. Don’t touch it for 5 minutes
  11. Flip and grill the other side
  12. For a med/rare look for 130 degrees w a thermometer
  13. Let rest for 10-15 min before slicing

London Broil is one of those cuts of meat many of us pass on, but I am telling you give it another try with my marinade and you will be hooked for life.
