Italian Inspired Burgers
Perfect day for my Italian inspired burgers! Change it up a little and give’m something different. This recipe is for around 6 burgers.
You’ll need:
- 2-lbs 80-20 blend ground chuck
- 1/2-cup minced red bell peppers
- 1/2-cup minced red onion
- 2-garlic cloves minced
- 1-tsp salt
- 1/2-tsp cracked black pepper
- 1/4-tsp red pepper flakes
- 1/4-cup grated Parmesan or romano
Directions:
Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl but do not over work the meat. Loosely form your burgers and let come to room temperature before cooking them. An over worked burger is horrible. A cold burger never cooks properly. Top with some roasted red bell peppers. Mozzarella, Gorgonzola or Fontina are perfect melting cheeses for the top. As far as buns, I’m not a fan of all these specialty buns, so I usually use a simple hamburger bun.
