BBQ Ribs without the BBQ Recipe
With the holiday weekend coming up, I figured I should post my Rib Rub recipe and my Rib Recipe. I don’t use a grill or a smoker, I use my oven. I know the hardcore BBQers are gonna flip. I find the juices remain with the ribs, and the flavor, to me, is unmatched. Besides, not everyone has access to a BBQ grill, and this solves that problem too.
My Method:
- Remove the membrane from the underside of the ribs or have the butcher do it
- Use a good amount of the rub, and coat both sides of the ribs, rubbing it in the meat
- Wrap and seal the ribs in foil
- Pre-heat your oven to 300 degrees
- Place the ribs meat side up on baking sheets and into the oven
- Bake for 3-3.5 hours
- Remove from the oven and let sit in the foil for 15 minutes before unwrapping
- At this point you can either enjoy them or place them (unwrapped) under the broiler for 2 minutes
My Rub Recipe: Mix all this in a bowl and store in a jar until you’re ready to use
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup paprika
- 1/4 cup salt
- 1/4 cup cumin
- 1/4 cup chili powder
- 1/4 cup black pepper
- 1/4 cup garlic powder
- 1/4 cup onion powder
