Gnocchi with Authentic Alfredo Sauce
The gnocchi is from a local Italian Pasta store and for the sauce, I made Alfredo! Now there are many versions of Alfredo sauce, but authentic Alfredo sauce is simply butter and Parmesan cheese….that’s it.
You will need:
- 1-lb Gnocchi
- 4 tbs unsalted butter left out to come to room temp and softened
- 1/4 cup grated Parmigiano Reggiano cheese
- 1-tbs pasta water
Directions:
- Cut the soft butter into small pieces and place in a large bowl.
- Cook the gnocchi till done, remove and add to the bowl with the butter, grated cheese and pasta water.
- Toss everything together until the cheese and butter is melted and serve. This Alfredo sauce is traditionally used on Fettuccine but I was craving it on my gnocchi. It was amazing.
