Flat Bread
Once you make your own Flat Bread you will never buy it again. This is my basic recipe and from this recipe you can add all types of ingredients, herbs, spices etc just fold them in to the dough!
You’ll need:
- 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 tbs olive oil
- 3/4 cup of warm water
Directions:
- Add the flour to a bowl then add the water, oil and salt
- Using your fingers work the ingredients into a ball of dough
- Remove the dough ball and kneed it for 10 minutes on a lightly floured surface
- Divide the dough into 6 equal size pieces and then roll them into small dough balls
- On a lightly floured surface work each dough ball into a 8″ diameter pizza shape, use a rolling pin to make it easier (I use a cast iron seasoned skillet with a tsp of olive oil and wipe it around with a paper towel)
- Pre-heat the skillet and get it very hot
- Place the dough into the skillet and allow it to cook for about a minute per side
- It will begin to bubble and that is when you will flip it. It should be a golden brown
- Allow the other side to cook then remove it
Simple to make and you can have fresh hot homemade flat bread in minutes
