Cast Iron Skillet Ribeye Steak

It’s crazy how easy this is and howScreen Shot 2016-02-16 at 6.10.48 PM incredible the steak comes out. Completely prepared in the skillet and in minutes. You could go to a steakhouse and spend $45-$60 for a ribeye or get your cast iron skillet out.

You’ll need:
  • Steak
  • Canola Oil
  • 1 tbs Butter

Directions:

  1. Bring the steak to room temperature, dry it with paper towels and season well with salt.
  2. Heat the skillet on a high heat for 7-10 minutes.
  3. Sprinkle some water in the skillet and if it sizzles and evaporates quickly, the skillet is ready.
  4. Add a tbs of canola oil to one side of the skillet.
  5. Add the steak onto the oil press it down and don’t touch for 2 minutes.
  6. Flip and cook another 2 minutes.
  7. Continue cooking and flipping until you have cooked the steak to your preferred doneness.
  8. Then add 1-tbs of butter.
  9. Tilt the skillet towards the steak side and baste the steak with the butter for 10 seconds.
  10. Flip and do the same thing.
  11. Remove the steak to rest on a cutting board for 10minutes.
