Fan Recipe: Mama’s Mouth-Watering Meatball Stromboli

Mama’s Mouth-Watering Meatball Stromboli
Ingredients
- 8-10 oz, prepared dough
- 1/4 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil and basting brush
- 1/2 tbs fresh oregano & fresh Basil
- 1/2 cup shredded provolone
- 1/2 cup smoked mozzarella
- 1/2 cup mixed Green & Black Olives
- 1/2 cup sliced Italian Sweet Peppers
- 1/2 cup of sliced Portobello Mushrooms
- 1 finely diced San Marzano tomato
- 1/2 cup Julienne Sliced Onion
- 1 cup of your sauce
- 6-8 of your meatballs~chunked
- 4-6 slices of either….Prochetta, Prosciutto, Salame, Culatello, Cotechino, or Capicola.
Directions:
- Add 1/4~cup diced Tomato to sauce.
- Flour a wood cutting board, roll out dough, into pie formation
- Brush dough, lightly with EVOO and then save brush, for later use.
- On half of round dough, place your choice of meat, 1/2~cup sauce, & meatball chunks.
- In bowl…mix together following…Green & Black Olives, Peppers, Mushrooms, Onion, fresh spices, cheeses, remaining EVOO(don’t discard EVO CUP).
- Pour mixture, over meats. Pour remaining sauce over mixture.
- Blanket the mixture/meats, with top dough.
- Brush remaining droplets of EVOO, (from sparred EVOO cup) on top of blanket of dough.
- Slice top of dough to allow venting. Bake @ 350, for 30~40 minutes, or until crust is golden.
Serves 4~8
