BBQ Ribs without the BBQ Recipe

With the holiday weekend coming up, I figured I should post my Rib Rub recipe and my Rib Recipe. I don’t use a grill or a smoker, I use my oven. I know the hardcore BBQers are gonna flip. I find the juices remain with the ribs, and the flavor, to me, is unmatched. Besides, not everyone has access to a BBQ grill, and this solves that problem too.

My Method:

  1. Remove the membrane from the underside of the ribs or have the butcher do it
  2. Use a good amount of the rub, and coat both sides of the ribs, rubbing it in the meat
  3. Wrap and seal the ribs in foil
  4. Pre-heat your oven to 300 degrees
  5. Place the ribs meat side up on baking sheets and into the oven
  6. Bake for 3-3.5 hours
  7. Remove from the oven and let sit in the foil for 15 minutes before unwrapping
  8. At this point you can either enjoy them or place them (unwrapped) under the broiler for 2 minutes

My Rub Recipe: Mix all this in a bowl and store in a jar until you’re ready to use

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup paprika
  • 1/4 cup salt
  • 1/4 cup cumin
  • 1/4 cup chili powder
  • 1/4 cup black pepper
  • 1/4 cup garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup onion powder
