Stove Top Baked Ziti

Stove Top Baked Ziti2This is perfect for a Monday night Dinner! It literally will be ready in minutes and it’s so delicious. I put measurements for the cheese but if you like lots of cheese then add more!
You’ll need:

and it dosen’t get easier.

  • 1/2 lb of ziti cooked 2 minutes short of recommended time, drained and set aside.
  • 8-ounces of ricotta cheese
  • 8-ounces of mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1/4-cup of grated pecorino Romano cheese.
  • 2 cups of tomato sauce

Directions:

  1. In a large skillet add the sauce and heat it till just starting to boil.
  2. Then add the cooked pasta, 4- ounces of the ricotta, half the Romano, half the mozzarella and mix well being sure everything is fully mixed together. Top with remaining mozzarella, romano and ricotta and then cover with a lid.
  3. Put on the stove top (NOT OVEN) put the heat to low and do not remove the cover for 2 minutes.
  4. Turn off the heat and let it sit for 5 more minutes (do not remove the lid) Remember everything is fully cooked you are just melting and heating. I serve directly from the skillet and this also makes for a very easy cleanup! The key to this method is using a skillet that has a lid that fits tight.
