Simple Fast Tomato Sauce
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/4 cup onion chopped
- 4 garlic cloves sliced thin
- 1 28 oz can whole Italian plum tomatoes crushed by hand
- 5-6 fresh basil leaves
- 1 tbs butter
- 1 tsp salt
Directions:
- In a large skillet add the olive oil, onion, garlic and turn the heat to medium and let cook for about 5 minutes. Add the salt, tomatoes and all their juice.
- Once this comes to a boil lower the heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes. Stir along the way. Add the basil, butter, turn off the heat and stir the butter into the sauce.
